The Farside farm is a hidden Midlands gem and play host to The Boucher Legacy Art for Conservation event annually. This stunning country lodge, masterfully crafted in wood and stone, is just a few minutes from the busy N3 Freeway, and worlds apart from the chaos of the city. It’s picturesque setting makes it the perfect backdrop for the appreciation of art. With unwavering support for The Boucher Legacy, The Farside Farm graciously opened its doors as the distinguished venue for The Art for Conservation Auction in both 2022 and 2023. In doing so, they showed their commitment to wildlife conservation and the promotion of art. Our sincere gratitude to Graham & Ryan Edmunds, the ultimate hosts of our auction.

Nestled in Lions River, The Platform Gallery stands as a thriving testament to the Midland’s rich history and craft. For many years, their mission has been to seek out artists from diverse backgrounds who share their unwavering vision. It was through this ability to showcase exceptionally gifted artists hailing from their community, some of whom are already fervently engaged in the realm of conservation, that a partnership with The Boucher Legacy was forged. Together, The Boucher Legacy, and The Platform Gallery have proudly hosted the Art for Conservation auction, to raise funds and make a lasting impact in protecting Africa’s endangered mammals.
Cape Town Gin made a splash in the conservation world when we partnered with The Boucher Legacy in October 2021. Established in 2015 by Craig van der Venter, The Cape Town Gin & Spirits Company has become a firm favourite with gin lovers in South Africa and beyond. Their Cape Town range of gins do not only reflect truly South African flavours, but also give back by working closely with organisations such as the Boucher Legacy, PinkDrive, and Men’s Foundation.
Adding to their already established range of gins, the Cape Town Black Rhino Gin hit shelves last year with a portion of proceeds from every bottle sold going to The Boucher Legacy to help them in the fight to protect Africa’s endangered mammals.
When the directors of BF were discussing doing our bit for the Boucher Legacy, one statement sealed it:
“He was a hard bugger on the field, the one who got things done”.
This is the kind of character needed to give our wildlife the best chance of survival. It is a privilege to make our small contribution to this massive task.
Onwards and upwards – and as usual, anything we can do.
